(1) The main tasks of the department are:

to provide all possibilities in the sphere of deployable geoinformation support for the needs of National crisis managment in the framework of resolving Emergency situation such as natural disasters, technological crisis, accidents, air incidents and crashes
to provide deployable geographic support for the needs of the exercises of the Slovak Armed Forces on own territory as well as abroad
Education and training of Imint specialists
Analysis of objects and basic landscape elements from aerial images and satellite scenes for intelligence purpose
Managing of concentrated training of VAT members in order to sustain professional competence and deployability
all-round training of professional soldiers of TOPU
Implementation of Treaty on Open Skies by electro-optical imagery analysis
Preparing of teaching aid for intelligence IMINT analysts according to S3596
Preparing foudation data for military equipment catalogues, and in partnership with Military Academy in future to create interactive military equipoment catalogues
In partnership with Military Academy ongoing works on e-learning educational project for intelligence IMINT analysts
Operation of security area for classified NATO, EU and other forein power documents
Actively participate in project to build NGCS and BICES networks and in future to operate the security area designed for
